With a generous grant from The Rose Ball, FoRR teamed up with the City of Greenville to perform maintenance at previously restored sites. A restoration is only as good as its maintenance! It's important to keep these sites functioning properly instead of returning to their formally degraded status.
A crew from Wildlands Engineering performed invasive species control and removal, and planting of live stakes of native woody vegetation for bank stabilization, enhancement, and biodiversity. In addition, they addressed newly eroded sites.
Restoration efforts were spread throughout the Reedy River within Cleveland Park and at McDaniel Avenue, Richland Creek, and McPherson Park.
